Also known as "Amaro degli Abissi", Amaro Calamaro was born from the profound Italian liqueur tradition and expresses a perfect balance between elegance and character. Its recipe involves a careful infusion of honey, gentian and artichoke extract in alcohol and granulated sugar, giving life to an aromatic bouquet capable of surprising and conquering. With a typically Mediterranean flavour, it is a versatile bitter: excellent to be enjoyed neat as a digestive, served cold with crushed ice and a slice of orange, but also a protagonist in mixology, where it stimulates creativity and original interpretations. Ideal for those who want to go beyond the traditional after-dinner tasting, it lends itself to new aperitifs, from replacing Vermouth in a Negroni, to pairings with tonic water or cola.
Its brown color with bronzed reflections anticipates a rich scent of gentian, bitter orange peel, peppermint and delicate nuances of liquorice. On the palate it reveals fullness and harmony, with coherent references to the sense of smell and notes of honey and mint, enriched by a persistent finish of caramel and cinchona.
