Marchesi di Barolo is a historic winery located in the heart of the Langhe, where the legendary Barolo, known as the βKing of Winesβ, has been produced for over six generations. Deeply rooted in an area with an exceptional winemaking heritage, the company grows and vinifies grapes from its own vineyards in the Langhe, Roero and Monferrato, following an approach that highlights the distinctive character of each individual plot. Its carefully preserved historic cellars are regarded as the birthplace of modern Barolo and continue to house the ageing wines, combining centuries-old tradition with an ability to interpret the productβs ongoing qualitative evolution. Marchesi di Barolo is internationally recognised for the quality of its wines and its pioneering role in introducing the great wines of Piedmont to the world.
Barolo Grappa is produced from selected Nebbiolo grape marc through a meticulous process that preserves the identity of the raw material. After gentle pressing, the marc, still containing a significant percentage of wine, is immediately delivered to the distillery and distilled using the traditional bain-marie method in small batch copper stills. The spirit then undergoes a brief maturation of approximately 6 months in stainless-steel tanks at full strength of 78% ABV, before being reduced to 42% ABV and bottled. Clear and bright in the glass, it offers an intense, penetrating aroma. Bold and full on the palate, it is warm and dry, with a long, clean finish that reflects the noble character of the grapes from which it originates.
