Frappe are a classic dessert of the Italian carnival tradition, also known as chiacchiere, lie or cenci depending on the region, and represent one of the most loved sweet snacks during the Carnival period. Prepared with a simple dough and fried until they obtain a light and crumbly consistency, they are finally sprinkled with icing sugar for a crunchy and sweet taste.
Ingredients
Flour wheat, sugar, eggs, white wine (contains sulphites), leavening agents (disodium diphosphate, sodium carbonate), starch wheat, salt, flavourings. Fried in sunflower seed oil. Decoration: powdered sugar (sugar, corn starch). May contain traces of dried fruit in shell.
