The colour ranges from ruby red to garnet. The bouquet is rich, intense and aromatic, with fragrances of wild berries and violet. Beautifully balanced on the palate, with just the right degree of astringency, a round and velvety body and a subtly aromatic finish.
Designation: Lagrein Alto Adige DOC
Grape variety: 100% Lagrein
Production area: South Tyrol, Bolzano, Trentino-South Tyrol
Training system: Guyot trellising
Harvest: picked by hand into crates
Vinification: after destemming, the grapes ferment for approximately 10 days at a constant temperature of 28°C. At regular intervals, racking and gentle pressing bring the must into contact with the skins, ensuring optimal extraction of colour while enhancing the wine’s fruity aromas. The wine is then carefully racked off the skins twice
Ageing: 70% of the wine matures for several months in large oak casks, while the remaining 30% ages in two- to three-year-old barriques. After blending, the wine is bottled and left to rest for several months
Alcohol content: 13% – Contains sulphites
Serving temperature: 16–18°C
Available size
0.75 L bottle ZEMLAG075
Perfect pairing
Italiamy recommends serving Lagrein with traditional Tyrolean canederli.
