Bordiga is a historic Piedmontese distillery founded in Cuneo in 1888 by Cavalier Pietro Bordiga, a herbalist with extensive knowledge of Alpine botanicals and Eastern spices. For over a century, it has produced liqueurs and spirits using original recipes and artisanal methods passed down through generations. Many of its herbs and botanicals are hand-picked in the Occitan Valleys and processed separately through slow maceration and distillation. Remaining faithful to its roots, Bordiga continues to use its traditional wood-fired still, creating authentic specialities with a deep connection to the Alpine region.
Produced entirely in Cuneo, an area renowned for the quality of its ingredients and its artisanal tradition. Its traditional production method involves slow maceration for 40–50 days, followed by maturation in the cellar at a constant temperature of approximately 10°C for at least 15–20 days before bottling. Filtration is carried out exclusively using natural methods, through refrigeration and paper filters, without the use of chemical agents. Only carefully selected, high-quality ingredients are used, including Alpine botanicals hand-picked in the Cuneo Alps, fine Piedmontese wines and exotic spices. The recipe features 56 different botanicals, including herbs, peel, berries and flowers. Its aromatic character is shaped by sweet and bitter orange peel, ginger, sage and yarrow, while Bourbon vanilla softens the palate, adding roundness and sweetness without compromising the overall balance. The result is a bright ruby-red vermouth with an elegant and harmonious profile. The bitter notes of Roman and gentle wormwood emerge on the finish, supported by the earthy bitterness of gentian and the vibrant character of quassia.
